Please remember that the Granada Hills Holiday Parade is a RAIN OR SHINE EVENT. There have been many years in which it rained the night before or the morning of only to have sunshine at the Parade Kick Off.

Please dress accordingly where possible – PARADE SAFETY is the most important consideration.

Do remember the following parade rules and tips and please take this opportunity to read and convey this information amongst all participants in your parade unit entry.

1. Forward Motion is to be maintained throughout the parade procession. No stopping in front of judges stands and TV camera filming.

2. Appoint a safety monitor within your parade unit to oversee all safety considerations. Walking Groups with vehicles should have the designated safety monitor walking on the rear left side of unit within rear view driver visibility to maintain supervision of the entire parade unit.

3. All drivers to drive with extra caution.

4. Della Carrol check in booth opens at 11am and closes at 12:30pm

5. Follow all specific parade formation and disbanding rules in your parade packets, they can also be found on the Granada Hills Holiday Parade Website:
Most important is that all walking group parade participants; Scout Troops, Dance Teams etc. access the parade formation area by utilizing San Jose Ave. and Rubio to be dropped off and then walk across the park to the assembly area. Do not attempt driving on Chatsworth Street or Petit those areas already have assigned parade units.

6. It is very important that a representative of your unit be present at the parade awards ceremony immediately following the conclusion of the parade which will take place at Granada Charter High School located at the parking lot at Kingsbury and Zelzah Ave.

7. Portable fire extinguishers need to be on each float.

The Parade starts promptly at 1:30pm

Your cooperation is very much appreciated as we look forward to a fun and spirited Sunday Parade Day filled with many happy family holiday memories.
